YOU GOTTA HAVE FAITH.
This title seemed apt. In the words of George Michael, we do have to have faith. We need faith that our day is going to go well. We need faith that others care about us. On a spiritual level that is the main reason we care about having faith. We need to believe that there is something that a higher being. That we exist for a reason. This blog effectively is intended to explore faith. To see how faith is personal. How can we have a relationship with God and Jesus in these times.
Firstly what is faith. Isn't faith a personal feeling? I am coming to the conclusion that faith is in YOUR heart. You can't follow other people's faith. Of course you can't have faith without belief. You can't believe in something and not have faith. Faith is understanding what makes that faith truthful/real. I am slowly getting this concept. This is my own interpretation, my own opinion. I want this to be a sincere focus on my own feeling about faith without having the audacity to think I am right. How do you want to get religious faith. Go to church, become part of an organised religion. My own experience is that organised religion can give that strength and unity of faith. It does give that closeness to god. It gives knowledge that god is ever present. That alone doesn't give you faith in god and that you will be forgiven. I am forever trying to get to the closeness that the Bible states we shouid need to have a personal relationship to god. I can give what I feel is my own experiences to start that personal discovery of god.
God is ever present. He is all seeing, all knowing. Just because you think that there is no god, because you don't see him, doesn't mean there is no god. Firstly that presumes you want to believe but deny his existence. It is kind of like him being important but you need to get to know why. Why is the ultimate question we strive to find out. Why are we here? What is our purpose ?Are there answers to those questions ? Surely gods purpose hasn't changed since the beginning of time. Wasn't it for us to inherit the earth and live and respect it as god intended.
Secondly prayer is the ultimate realisation that you can start to have a close relationship with God. From a sceptical point of view I really would never had this impression if prayer. Yes those prayers are asking for help. People in a particularly stressed and anxious state will pray for things to get better. You can lay all your anxiety, burden onto God. That is even what the bible tells us. God is all loving, caring, compassionate and above all the way to forget your stress and worries.
